4. Balloon Swallowing
A staple of kids’ parties, the balloon swallowing trick is a visually impressive illusion that doesn’t actually involve swallowing the balloon. The magician pierces an uninflated balloon and slowly inflates it, then rolls it into their mouth, creating the appearance of swallowing it. The secret lies in the preparation of the balloon, which has small holes allowing air to leak out slowly. Sometimes, a partially inflated balloon is swapped with a deflated one during the trick to create the illusion of bringing it back out.
